Come journey with me!

Is that what God is asking of you during this Lent?
"Spend time with me! Listen to what I am saying to you!

Lent is an opportunity to take time to be with God...to listen to God...to receive new insight about God and self.

Listen closely to the scripture readings during Lent as Jesus calls and relates to all kinds of people in diverse situations. When Jesus calls...they respond! Have you been putting it off? I'll think about it later!
I'm too busy right now!
I have responsibilities!
God wouldn't be calling me!
I have things I want to do!
What ministry could I possibly do?

One of the first readings during Lent is that of Levi, the tax collector. Jesus simply says, "Follow me." Levi was not the typical "holy person" that people would have thought would be following Jesus. Many times I hear women say they hesitate to respond to God because they think they are not worthy enough. Remember: It's God who calls. We respond!

Thoughout Lent, I will be highlighting some of the scriptures as they pertain to women discerning a call to religious life. You may want to use them for reflection.

Positive things to do during Lent regarding a vocation:
Reflect on Scripture readings each day.
Journal about your journey with the Lord.
Do spiritual reading.
Attend daily Mass.
Seek spiritual direction.
Join a discernment group in you area or diocese.
Check your Parish to see if they are offering a course, speakers, etc.

Make a Discernment Day or Come and See Retreat. New York City ~ Boston ~ Allegany ~ Tampa!
