As a community of Allegany Franciscan women who have heard and responded to a call to live the contemplative life, we desire to abide in God's loving, healing presence. We express this in prayer, joy, silence, solitude, and simplicity.
With grateful hearts we wish to allow this gift of God to flow out through our prayer, our welcoming others "to come apart for a while," and our openness to however the Spirit may call us to carry our gift outward to God's people.
Welcome to our home!
Following in the footsteps of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi, the Sisters of the Franciscan Ritiro seek to live a life of contemplation and prayer within the larger Congregation. Started in 1959, the Ritiro remains a part of the St. Elizabeth Motherhouse today.
