“We become what we love and who we love shapes what we become. If we love things, we become a thing. If we love nothing, we become nothing. Imitation is not a literal mimicking of Christ, rather it means becoming the image of the beloved, an image disclosed through transformation. This means we are to become vessels of God's compassionate love for others.” – Clare of Assisi
Retreat on the Spirituality of
By Briege O’Hare OSC
Clare of Assisi
The retreat on the Spirituality of Clare of Assisi was originally presented in 2005 by Briege O’Hare OSC, a Poor Clare of the Light of Christ Monastery, Dundalk, Ireland, to the Sister of St. Francis of Stella Niagara, New York.
We thank the Stella Niagara Franciscans
for allowing us to use and to make this material available to others.
The retreat is presented in seven sessions which will be posted each month. The sessions will include a audio recording of Briege, a Word document of the presentation and questions for reflection and sharing.
