Reflection on the Nativity of the Lord

By: Judith Terrameo OSF

SCRIPTURE:

Isaiah 52: 7-10

Hebrews 1: 1-6

John 1: 1-18

REFLECTION:

The beauty of Christmas−

“the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” The beauty of Mary’s “YES” −

the channel through which the Divine entered our world.

The awesomeness of God−

the Omniscient One, Emmanuel-

God-with-us! God-among-us!

How beautiful, this most holy, sacred moment!

The Word become flesh!

God’s radical humility and love!

The Holy One of God, Jesus−

Come to show us the face of God;

How awesome our God!

PRAYER:

Good and gracious God, we thank you for gift of your Son, Jesus. May we GAZE upon, CONSIDER, and CONTEMPLATE the wonder of your dwelling among us, and may we IMITATE the goodness, love and mercy of Jesus in our daily lives.

ACTION:

Spend some time today contemplating the wonder of God’s love for us; that he come a dwell among us. What does this mean for me and for my life today?
