GOSPEL: Luke 3
The word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the desert.…proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins:
“Prepare the way of the Lord.
make straight his paths.
Every valley shall be filled
and every mountain and hill shall be made low.
The winding roads shall be made straight,
and the rough ways made smooth,
and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” REFLECTION:
St. Clare wrote in her Testament these two words “after God.” These two words could change the world of each one of us. … In general, we would have to begin by wanting to believe in God enough to make a place for him in our everyday lives.
PRAYER:
Gracious God, may I make room for you in my life today. May your word be the first and last words spoken in my life today. Amen.
ACTION:
Take time to be in God’s presence today. Allow everything else to come “after God.”
